But theres nothing like a photo holding up a good fish. Its near on impossible to get a water photo that shows true size. I love catching and releasing great fish but the least I want for my troubles is a quick photo which I think isnt too much to ask. Not trying to start a debate but just curious on how many guys would be happy with a water photo of a good fish.

Difficult question.

I guess you just gotta look inside yourself and say "Is my ego worth more than this fish's well being?"

I have seen fish killed just for a photo - kind of defeats the purpose of catch and release.

But - yeah - tough call sometimes.

nah jk honestly if they did release it i think 250kg is way to big to drag over the edge of a boat, probably would have been crushed under its own weight.
