Yara Karratha

 Hi Guys

Anyone here know anything about the Yara TAN plant in Karratha?

Might have a job opportunity coming up and was wondering if anyone has some info on the site.

Cheers Choc.

G'day mate, Depending on the

G'day mate, Depending on the role, Yara would be a good way to gain experience with the hydrocarbon industry (if you don't already have it). Most people that I know that have worked there have used it as a bit of a stepping stone to somewhere better structured (Woodside, Chevron etc). Their was a distinct cultural divide on there in the past between management (all Indian) and the rest of the employees. Not sure if this is still the case though, but it did make life very frustrating for my mates that worked there.

Their employee housing in town (Karratha) are all only a few years old and present well.

Like I've said, I only got the info from mates that have worked there not from personal experience. Of those guys though, they have all moved into better, more lucrative roles with other companies after Yara/Burrup fertilisers

Hope this helps

Can back that up.  Also heard the divide still exists as those managers are still present.  Got a mate that works there that says its not too bad, but as Daisy has said, stepping stone..

Oh and give us the heads up if you guys blow some shit up, I need time to get out of dodge!

One by one, the Indian fucktards are being kicked out! But now the place has to catch up with all the safety / regulations which were blatantly ignored in the past. The new TAN plant, is partly owned by Orica (I think) which may be a great stepping stone to another site of theirs.

Money is not too bad.

Money is not too bad. Probably 100k+ for someone with a bit of experience. Plus you will receive a brand new house rent free. Best bit is, it is only 2 hours to the Monties, the marlin and sails are thick in the cooler months and the barra are not too hard to catch if you learn the techniques.
