YBS - The daily life of a man child.
I have really enjoyed watching YBS over the time since its start, really enjoyed the liquid cinema days and spear fishing content.
Lately it's just a mid 30's 12 year old running around with new toys screaming, dancing and butchering the English language that is borderline embarrassing, actually it is embarrassing.
I could put up with the negatives of Brodie Moss as the content was what I wanted to see, now the "show" has evolved into a daily blog, I get that he wants to increase content, but fark me, lift your game bud and don't loose sight of what made you, it wasn't Brodie Moss that made YBS in my opinion, it was the content and awesome footage with a sprinkling of personality.
We all enjoy a mate that is a bit crazy, but continually acting like a child is damn annoying, I can see why Amberleigh West did a runner.

I guess he's laughing all the way to the bank and has probably opened up a whole new demographic as my mates kids loves the show, I asked them what's the best parts of YBS you guys like and they both said "we like to see him do stupid stuff". I honestly can not see anyone above the age of 12 who would find the latest content enjoyable to watch.
I cringe when he drives his boat by himself and walks up the front.
Anyone recommend another channel that has really good content ? I like the "back to basics" guys and watched quite a few, the french chick is damn hot. I tried and I mean I really tried to watch Andy's Fishing, just not quite there yet lol.

Agree it can be cringe
Agree it can be cringe worthy - but at the same time i love the thought that he is exposing a huge audience to the ocean/outdoors etc. His underlying message re: conservation seems to be very basic but one that if the younger generation pick up it can only be positive.
But that is somewhat offset by diving solo, riding on the front of the boat etc etc

Yes
I dont want to seem like a tall poppy chopper but everyone ive spoken to says the same thing, just lost the mojo when he went to mass producing every second day. Hes obviously made a heap of coin and good on him too, not knocking success but finding myself skipping through a lot of the episode as it just doesnt have the same feel as it did in the earlier days. Really hope he gets it back as I feel the same as much of the sentiment above, just seems to have lost the vibe for mine.

I know we all love the Aussie larrakin, but him especially with such a wide following should be setting the example saftey wise especially on boats, jetskis etc. there are plenty of young blokes who'll follow that lead and come to grief. We all know only too well the ocean can be unforgiving. He's a good character and fun to watch and especially his ahem scantily clad girlfriends :P ooo la la and I love his dog. The bloke has a good knoweledge base so it's good he's sharing it.

Spot on Beau. I'm in the YouTube game and to make a decent living you definitely have to consider going with what's popular (as in gets good views) over just great content.
it's a bit of a shame sometimes but it's the reality and it's why most fishing YT channels struggle to move past a hobby. You need to put up regular vids that consistently get reasonable views and sadly if you wanna do it as a career you may have to sway slightly from the exact content you want to make to survive. Keen fisherman and Spearos aren't plentiful enough on YT (and won't buy as much merch) compared to getting more casual ocean loving regular joe viewers who just wanna watch stuff they will never get to do themselves.

You can see why guys like Cavy and Briggsy stick tk clickbait titles and thumbnails to try and appeal to wider audience and it is helping them. They'll get way more views on random videos than guys uploading the best jigging / popping videos in the world simply because it appeals to everyone.

I thought it was only me.
I hit unsubscribe about a year ago.
When I started watched him many, many moons ago it was raw and slightly scratchy in the way of content product.
That was more than adequate for my viewing needs. Things got better, in fact stupidly better. The man is very good at editing, yet there's only so many beach cook ups and secret sauce wraps I can handle. Content is a tricky thing to beef up when you're doing the same thing all the time. Let's face it all he's doing is going out on the water for a spear and a fish and spending a day at the beach, for us it seems perfectly normal yet for someone in Holland or Uzbekistan it's a WTF moment. Points to him for showcasing the Nor West Cape and surrounding areas.
Give a man a seemingly endless pot of loot, sponsors and Instagram Hoes and his internal flux gate compass will be lured to not its true initial bearing.
Interesing to see his normal bunch of mates are not appearing as much as previously, perhaps the free GoPros were not enough payment for Mr Moss' appetite for content?.
As for acting like F@#238t on a dirt bike he will have the honor of filming his date with the Flying Doctor.
Let us prey that his fluffy lil mate Stryda knows how to operate the:
Auto pilot on the boat
How to call sea rescue
How to operate the camera when ( its a given here not if, when. ) his master takes a header over the side whilst in the middle of nowhere.
Perhaps Mercury can come to the party for a man overboard kill switch ?.
He won't be the first man to go overboard whilst boating solo up here and I'd doubt he'd be as lucky as the last man who did.
Cheers for the other YouTube alternatives gentlemen.

not a fan of how he treats
not a fan of how he treats shimano as a sponsor. The ep where they sent him a whole kit and he just went through it like heres some shiney shit some spinny shit few of these and a few of those. If i was shimano I'd want atleast 5 mins of content showing exactly what they sent rather than another wrap made from what he caught on the gear. Few months back he bagged them out and baught daiwa gear. They still helped him out and he dogged em again. Without his squid jigs and rods and reels 50% of his content is gone. Never bite the hand that feeds you i say. Having said that am i jealous.... hell yes.

Branding branding branding
He is building a brand, the changes mentioned above may not be to everyones liking - mine included, but it is about getting a following and building a brand that will sell products - his or others. Sometimes these have short windows - so he is making hay whilst the exmouth sun shines. I suggest he has someone advising him on this as the changes seem very specific and targeted to a younger audience -eg. my son wants one of his hoodies - i dont......

My kids have been flicking through the videos after our Exxy trip.
Funny thing is that when we were in the Newsagency in Exxy, my daughter (6) said 'theres Fire Baby'. When i said 'Where?', she pointed to a stubby holder with a naked dude on it that is targeted to guys who love guys, or in our case, one of our mates who loves a laugh.
Last night, when watching the latest video, she asked why he had naked photos on a beer cooler?

Just goes to show the quality
Just goes to show the quality of the content when he does a handful of 'questionable' things and people react to it. I don't think Brodie is alone as much as it seems with the footage, I may be mistaken, but the footage angles and content are done very well to generally focus solely on him.
I might be biased somewhat I guess, but I think he's built something that has spawned most of the You Tubers previously mentioned in this thread. Good on the lot of them I reckon.

Feel much the same.
His original videos where amazing and worth the watch but not sustainable as they take forever to make. Hats off to him for making a living out of it but his target audience has really changed I feel. It's hard because as mentioned above videos purely just fishing are hard to get huge you need to compromise to cater for a wider audience which he has done well at the cost of the hard core anglers.

Tall Poppy Syndrome
Brodie Moss (of Youngbloods) has generated over 150million youtube views in the last 12months.
By my calculations, that's probably in excess of $500k of revenue from that alone.
And he has done it by chasing a dream and working hard on some quality video production and editing.
Bloody good on him. I suggest to all you knockers out there to simply don't watch or try doing it yourself if you think you can do better.
And a huge vote of appreciation to all those who do put themselves out there in the public sphere and share their fishing and marine experiences. I watch and take valuable information from as many of them as I can. Some of them, sometimes rub me up the wrong way, but I still appreciate their effort and content that they freely provide for my entertainment.
And anyone who went to the Perth Boat show in 2019 would have witnessed just how popular the Youngbloods are. I'm quite sure their presence at the show would have increased the show's attendance by at least 10 to 20%. They were by far the most popular attraction/stall there.
Finally for all you Karens out there that love to have a whinge, go feast your eyes on some other Aussie video producers that your teenage kids are probably watching and idolising ... tinnybashing on tik tok ... I'll go get my popcorn.

Ive got no problem with what
Ive got no problem with what he has achieved what so ever. Good on him for chasing a dream. Just his earlier vids were done for the love of spearing with mates, the ocean and everything to do with outdoor adventure. His new stuff is all about generating income and thats it. He doesn't connect emotionally with what he does now as he did in the earlier vids. He was grateful for everything he had and now he bags out free cars treats his free fishing gear like shit and rubs all his cool shit in the viewers face. But nothing against him, as said above he has found a market and is targeting it well. Make hay or wraps while the sun shines.

The problem he's got is that
The problem he's got is that in order to get >2M subscribers he has today, he has to appeal to more than just the scaly blokes on fishwrecked. He has to continually evolve and with a finite amunt of shit to do in exxy, thats hard. Thats why you've noticed the content changing to target an audience more in the younger generations - kids and teenagers (and as mentioned people from around the globe that see the fishing and diving as totally foreign).
He also has to keep producing regular content in order for the views/likes/subscribers to go up which keeps the moeny coming in as well as keeping the sponsors happy etc.
I still watch it for the the fishing and spearing (and the odd bit of T&A), but watch it for what it is... People are entitled to their opinion but you know what, I reckon he probaly dont give a fk what they think. And good on him.

BlueKiaser - Sensitive, much
Nobody said it wasnt successful, nor that it didnt attract an audience. All they said was the vibe and content had changed from the original and some people no longer found it as enjoyable. If that generates more traffic then good for him.
As for calling people a "Karen" (God I hate that term), I think its people like you that are acting like "Karens". Did I mention that I hate that terminology.
PS, being a "Karen" is not based an whether you air an opinion or not, its based on how you air that opinion and whether you are being an inconsiderate prick or not.
I did then the best that I knew how. When I knew better, I did better.

Good call, would be happy to watch one episode a month compared to the day to day boring, mundane content fillers of late.
Good bunch of blokes doing what they love.

Even One a week you could get good content . Wish there was a lot more of the freediving and fishing and less of the beach hookups with just him and his faithful companion.

To be fair
let's also not forget he lives in exmouth where it can blow its tits off for weeks at a time and making that fishing and diving content isn't always a possibility

I watched Mikey Cunningham from Darwin last night, that guy does not go anywhere without a beer, his mrs gave him two hours to go for a fish, he stops at the bottlo and orders a 6 pack of lights and 3 tallies of great northern. I guess anyone can throw up content these days lol

I caught that as well. All
I caught that as well. All his mates on the boat, comment about grown men acting like kids... Maybe the secret to his success is that he listens to his customers and delivers what they want.

Haha - I think he said "heap of grown ass men acting like kids" - to me that's just blokes having fun, was really enjoyable to watch a bit fun and great footage again. I just know now to bypass the solo beach trip and around home segments.

A couple of others that are
A couple of others that are not too bad are;
Deer Meat for Dinner - A Yanky bloke that mainly fishes with the odd pig and deer shoot thrown in.
Skidpig - QLD bloke that is not real flash at fishing, yet has a crack and always has a XXXX in his hand. Probably not for kids to watch because he does drop the F & C bombs a fair bit.
