OK Guys,
Given that a few of us will be targeting YFT tomorrow, give us your best lure / rig / tactics etc so at least one of us can post a couple of pics tomorrow evening.
Cheers

i got 2 today for tim, does ones i got all the fish on sunday, they are prob around the 5 to 6 inch mark, good for the smaller fish and even billfish will hit there, very versitile.

If you guys head out from mindarie i might make that my way out too, that way we can work together like i did with tim last week and try to get onto them
a good selection of deep divers like rapala cd19 and cd26 are good and cant pass by the halco's either

Mindarie is the go I think.
I have a new lure that has multiple towing holes to vary the speed and action, that I will definately be giving a crack.

If you can find out what the
If you can find out what the baitfish are then try and get a few, bridle them up and tow them through the birds at around 2-3knts. Thats a sure fire way to get a hookup. Other option is as Andy mentioned, laserpros 160-190. run a spread of 2 shallow and 2 deep divers and if you have the room run a bibless minnow or medium size skirt in 5-8 inch shotgun in the centre. Other than that its all trial and error. Find out what works and stick to it.
One other thing is to find the birds, find the bait and you will find the fish.

Halco 160 DD
Andy have found the Halco laser pro 160 DD in pilchard pattern the best in the waters you are trying.Think it is colour number 50. Tuna wouldnt touch a redhead and hit the pilchard before letting it all the way out. Also caught bonito over christmas with the same lure just in the 120 size trolling the three mile between ocean reef and mindarie.Went to get some more 120s the other day from a NOR tackle store and the rack was full bar the pilchard ones which were sold out.

Yep I agree Davo 1
We have taken heaps of the little bonito in the same waters, but for a few years now there haven't been too many mackies around that I have seen.
Will be trying everything but the kitchen sink tomorrow if we get no joy on the first choice lures.

Pilchard Pattern is my favourite goto lure as well. Got em in 120, 160 and the 190 sizes.

Don't rule out dropping down
Don't rule out dropping down a jig and to a bait ball. Kasey did it in Exmouth and nailed a good fin.
