Your Olympic moment so far...

Young Kyle Chalmers taking out the gold has to rate a mention for me and watching Usain Bolt win the 100 was awesome.
But to see those big Fijian fellas singing after their win in the rugby with tears running down their faces takes the cake for me.
What's your favourite Olympic moment so far?

The Rugby 7s, both the men's and women's. Kyle Chalmers also, he will be a superstar.

Anthony Ervin...
....I know most Aussies aren't going to get too excited about a story regarding an American swimmer, but this guy won gold in the 50 free in Sydney, gave up swimming, sold his medal on eBay for $17k and gave the money to the tsunami relief fund in 2004, and then came back and won the same event in Rio, age 35.
Oh, and Bogut's interview after the narrow loss to the dream team...the silly bit of fluff interviewing him was carrying on about how close they came, and how proud they should be, blah blah blah...and he was FILTHY! He knew they could have won. No small victories, you either win or lose, he said.
They may get another crack at them, except the way the US is playing, I can see the Boomers more likely to reach the gold medal game than them!

I havent watched much but
I havent watched much but listening to the ABC radio when Kate Campbell smashed the last leg for silver as did Chalmers for the men in the the relays reminded me of the old Thorpedo many moons ago beating the yanks.
I havent been into these Games so much but it still grabs you when something special goes down....
I'm actually really looking forward to Hawthorn winning gold again this September :)

The long jump
drama everywhere... Legit jumps not measured, South African takes the lead and then the American beats him by a cm on his last jump and the other Yank seems to take the win, only for the replay to eventually show his hand brushed the sand 50 cm behind.
Whilst this was going on Mo Farrah trips and gets his head trodden on, only to get up and win.

I got upset when our women's beach volleyball team lost. They won 4 games in a row, only to be slaughtered by the yanks in their 5th game!
The highlight for me was when they were playing their 3rd game against Poland. They were 6 points behind, only to swing around and win the game, hence the match!

The old Swisse kiss of death. They put the mockers on Magnussen last Olympics, four years later and it's both hockey teams and the Campbell sisters.
My favourite moment was when I discovered why the USA goal keeper hope solo is always referred to as "the controversial goalie"

Tackle
The Aussie chicks saving tackle in the 7s, that was pure will and determination to get there. Understood why they would/could win gold after seeing that.

Many great moments
including the passion of the Fijians in the men's rugby 7's and the Aussie girls in the women's 7's. Both teams went into the Olympics ranked No1 in the world and are deserved winners. The stand out for me thus far however was the Ethiopian runner Almaz Ayana for her performance in the 10000m when she took 14 secs off the world record that has stood for some 23 years. It would come as no surprise if she repeats the performance in the 5000m later this week.
The downside has been having to watch it on Channel 7 and listen to some of their dismal commentaries.
