What are your preferred hooks to use and how much are you prepared to pay.
In hedland there isn't much choice but the gamakatsu work out at $2 each . Bit pricey if you ask me

Mustad big gun is our go
Mustad big gun is our go to
but last year north we used some Korean spec ones from a local Perth shop
rusted a little quicker but didn't break one and we're still sharp
the amount you lose it makes it a bit easier

Tarpons
Tarpons, been using them for many years and the quality ha dropped a bit but still do the job. Out of a box of 100 [yes 100 that cost cheaper than the 25 you get now] you would expect to break 5-6 eyes while ganging them up and using same method now don't break any
Tried circle hooks and cannot catch a bloody thing with them, swap back to open hooks and back in catching business

I mix it up with Tarpons and
I mix it up with Tarpons and Big gun hooks as Jess Mentioned. Tarpons are very strong but can sometimes lack sharpness imo.

I used to by owners until I caught A decent dhue and the tip snapped off luckily still had fish.
You can get good eBay hooks As good as the owners at half the price I buy 100s at a time for places like dirk hartog
big savings compared for same if not better quality but you gotta look for them as there is also a lot of bad hooks around

Straighten too many gama's
Straighten too many gama's and big reds over the years..
Never had a problem with Owners just they cost a fortune!
the BKK hooks are made strong, thicker gauge and best value for money.
I only use octopus hooks for paternoster rigs, snells and assists for better hook presentation.
