fish identification

fish identification

 G'day all, can anyone help with the identification of this fish caught off the Derwent wreck. It was approximately 800mm long and dark red flesh,not good eating,cheers

Looks like a rosy jobfish to me, reasonable eating quality with nice firm flesh.

seems to be a resident population

on the Derwent. Ive caught them there and a number of others. 800 is a biggest ive seen
