mackeral have a quota system with strict rules. no electric/hydraulic reels or methods allowed. these were caught on rod and reel, the only other method we used was trolling with a lead line during the day. we used tld 50's with 80 lb mono at night. simply a gardie on a gang of 4, sometimes with a sinker in the tide.
