Unfortunately Adam dropped a huge Dhuie on the same lump as I pulled this little one from. We released a couple more and a small baldy. Adam managed to get a couple of BIG XOS Blackarse and a massive flathead.

All good
Yeh, s'all good, that big dhu will be mine one day. Managed to get 2 small dhues that went back well and a small pink. Andy also released an undersize baldy. You always know when Andy's onto a good fish, things go quiet on one side of the boat so you know somethings up. ;)

Silence
I save all my energy for the whooping and hollering when the fish comes aboard!
I even showed you the Andy Mac "Dhuie flick" method of hook setting yesterday, so next time you go out with Gully and get that 20kg monster, you will ping him/her in the corner of the mouth and stay connected for a change.(Hehehe)
On the subject od staying connected. Don't ask me how, but I managed to stay connected to a couple of fish yesterday despite my "seriously frayed" braid. You should have seen it, there were bits of frayed line peeling off all over the place. I had to keep dipping the rodtip in the water to free the front guide from clogging up with the stuff. Quite comical and would have had a few tackle rats in complete disbelief at the state of my gear. Definately time for a re-spool job.

Hey what kind of braid was that Andy? Was it poor quality or just bloody old braid?

Old Tuff Line
Yellow tough line XP 20lb. Has been on there for about a year and seen plenty of action down here and up in Exmouth. It has never broken off, unless on purpose and has scored a heap of good fish. I like the line but in the early days (when its new) the yellow powder that comes of it is unbelievable. Now all the powder has been removed it is a very pale yellow in colour.
Just ask Adam what it sounded like when that Dhui started to head for the bottom. The line was literally scraping on the levelwind and shaving more bits of line off the braid.
