Marko, they are Heru Cubera

Marko, they are Heru Cubera poppers. They are sold here in the tackle shops under the name of Blackjack Cubera's. For around the $50.00 mark locally, they are a well priced big fish popper.

Yep the Heru's are good value for money. They also perform very well.

I particularly like the dark blue 150's. Another couple I've had good success with are the Patriot Designs Mastered Bombs and Orion Cono Cono's.

Yeah, those mastered bombs are nice. Though, taxing to work. But, that's why I'll be getting a RF 78PF

haha Steve - funnily enough, poppers only got munched by YFT. GT's didn't want anything to do with poppers. Stickbaits on the other hand got smashed.

Unfortunately, my best performing stickbait got 'cudad' on the last day - boy do I miss that unpainted piece of timber.

Why do we always push them

Mon, 2010-09-20 17:54

Why do we always push them one fish too many?? I had a 150 Cubera that went to hell and back only to get bricked by a unstoppable, that was my trophy lure from New Cal!! We waited for a bit as sometimes the fish work them free, but no good. I actually got a Fullscale Kong back this way, saw it floating in the water a few minutes after the "bricking".
Surprising enough we never managed a fish on a stickbait.
What is your CI leader setup??

Yeah, we're always casting & thinking whether it will return for another cast.

I generally run 170lb cast man, tied via PR knot. Unit knot to swivel & split ring for stickbaits.

Twisted bite leader for popping (about 10+cm long).

200lb+ for heavier game.
