hi mate nice redfins did you get them on the weekend ? me and a fewmates got 12 down south this weekend fishing of our kayaks, was great fun and a good feed they taste bloody good. ill see if i can wrap a photo up
Yea mate got these on the weekend on saturday and then went out for a drive again on sunday and got one more from a different spot that we have never tried before. Got these two using worms.
Hi its Jenny here. I'm giving freshwater fishing a go but not sure where I should go. Was going to head down south on Saturday and try somewhere not too far, like the Collie River between Burekup and Collie. Do you know if there would be fish along that stretch of river at all? Also do you know if you are allowed to fish on the Wellington Dam? Thanks heaps!
But also try the Harvey weir and new Dam and river above the Dam. There is Redfin and troat in the areas you have mentioned. You are allowed to fish in the Collie River and Wellinton Dam as far as I am aware but I will stand corrected.
You do need a special licence to fish for SW freshwater Fish.
Good luck, and if you are going to use bait use live earthworms.
Excellent thanks very much Neels, this is the first I have heard about Harvey Dam so will swing by on the way down for breakfast and wet a line there first.
I got the fishing license yesterday and I have a worm farm bursting with worms so I'm all prepared, now I just need the fish to co-operate... Fingers crossed
Oh and ben since you asked i think fishing the rivers/dams for redfin is better in the summer when water levels are down and the fish seem to be more active and hungry than they are in the winter.

Tasty tea there mate.
I've never fished the rivers / dams around WA before, what are they like to fish during the summer?

That would not be a bad start.
