Another samsonfish... probably of average size, but I think the drag setting was pushing it for the rod.. and I was 'bouncing' it to agitate the fish more.
all in the name of good fun :)
p.s. notice the spool still spinning at high RPM :)
Nice bend! Obviously they're fairly specialized rods, but how do you find fighting fish with that long butt section? Just looks a bit awkward. I'd be interested to know the reasoning behind it (the long butt section)
its alot easier for underarm jigging with the longer butt section, so that the reel is away from the body and doesn't bang around your chest area
thats the main reason, to allow the reel to sit higher up, and due to that, the foregrip is shorter (cause of the longer rear grip and reel sitting higher up). you don't need to hold onto the rod with both hands
doesn't really make a difference, i would think, (to an extent), but i don't know too much about building rods...
btw, it doesn't really illustrate a correct 'horse stance'... but I was being careful with it since it was new :)

Pressure
Looks like theres a hell of a lot of pressure on that rod right about where your hand is.
Another left hander as well, suprised at the amount of lefties (classical styles) popping up lately.
