Good fishing
Sounds like a good day Rockpom, but how light a gear are you using for the Pinkies. In my experience light line and successful releases don't always go hand in hand.

Good snappy catch Phil, yeh a good day for sure!
John, i've had no probs with light line pink captures and their release....hardy enough imo!

Release no worries
I'm sure they swim off fine but are they being recaptured?
I'm not having a crack but asking a legitimate question. If your specifically tagging and your lucky enough to have access to the fishery, then 10kg tackle would be more appropriate IMO to get the fish back in as good a nick as possible. That's the whole ethos of tagging, getting a healthy fish successfully released in order to enhance its possible recapture.

8-10kg
Fair enough, no worries with 8-10kg. It's only the fairyfloss that I have concerns with IF fish are intending to be released.

John we have had some
John we have had some problems in the past with some releases in
warnbro sound as the pinks seem to get bloated even in 18m which is
a little hard to understand as the fish in cockburn have never seamed to have the same problem
with the same depth.
Fully understand your concern as my my even my 8 year old son has even noticed
the difference.
The release weight has come in handy but you still need the recaptures to note the
the survival rates. but as there is a low number of tagging done in Warnbro sound
the recapture rates will be lower than cockburn yet they way serve some insight into
where these warnbro fish move after their dumping of eggs!!

going light!
John, i only go very light when i'm having fun (not a tagging session), in shallow water and if the fish lookes nackered i'll keep anyway (in the appropriate keep areas). I've had recaptures on stuffed/dead fish that i've "wrote off " on my report card to be re captured later on ie 1-3 years later approx!
