Sounder reading - Sharks + Spangos

Bloody furgles sitting above the spangly school. I missed the good sounding as I was getting some good bites, but grabbed a quick snap to show what it looked like.

clearer
I don't think my transdeucer is in the optimal place as I have trouble picking up anything over 8 knots. So I use 50khx for almost all of my sounding around and change the gain according to the level of fuzz in the water. Once I find what I'm looking for I'll drop the gain further to pick out the bigger fish and know exactly where to drift through. I then usually turn the sounder off because the pinging through the tinny gives me a headache and I'll just use the gps to refine my drifts, unless I really need reassurance in knowing that the fish are there but they just aren't biting. I've just found that 50 gives me much better reading and definition in any depth.

hahha
Yeh I know, but its in a tinny and gets constant spray and I don't like cleaning it out there as the salt particles scratch the screen. If I want a clear pic I have to do the Ricky Ponting and spit in the hands and wipe it on. ;)

Squirt from a 'pump' water
Squirt from a 'pump' water bottle during the trip and a soft cloth - good insurance for the long term - that salt will eventually expand the seal. Happened on my old Lowrance.
Hmmm, 24 degree water, nice...well better then 18 down here.
Cheers Pete
