Thanks for putting us on the spot Adam.  The deepest I have fished, but it was worth all the pain.

Just the one Jeff from 3 drops.

Cheers Pete

2nd drop

Tue, 2011-04-19 09:10

Nearly put me off fishing for life.... I struggled to lift the bloody sinker back up the 250+ metres. Not sure what would have happened if there was a fish on the end???

Just another word of admiration for Pete's effort as he did it with a broken reel seat, where his heavy reel was twisting a quarter way around the rod with every crank. Try doing that for several hundred cranks.

Well Done

Pete,

Not sure if I have a fish on or not when fishing that deep.

I never lift the line to check if the bait is still there or not.

Think we were blessed by nil

Tue, 2011-04-19 12:14

Think we were blessed by nil current at the time of the drops.  Two 20's taped together did the trick. I could actually lift/drop and feel the bottom, so feeling the hook load up was easy.  Hence I was keen for a few more drops.

Cheers Pete
