Thursdays Red

Thursdays Red

Nice red taken in the 30's off Dampier on Thursday. Pretty rough start to the day but it just kept getting better.

Cheers

Quality Red there. Crappy conditions by the look of it.

No worries mate :-) As long as you can send up a few of the southern species ie Dhu's Kg's and what not for a bit of a change. Conditions were pretty average soupy, hence the lack of a smile. Struggled to get from that pose to despatch the fish and put him in the esky, my young bloke even had a yack over the side for a first. Then all of a sudden wind dropped and had a great run home.

not sure why you'd want Dhuies or KG's when you've got at least a dozen species that are better eating and about 50 that are a better fight

I agree wholeheartedly Matt.

I agree wholeheartedly Matt. I still wouldn't mind the odd surprise of seeing a big one hit the surface, would be a spin out that's for sure. As time goes by though, I am sure that someone will jag a lost red one day down that way, just as I am sure no-one will have the same luck the opposite way around. About to go and see what we can drag up today, who knows :-)

Cheers John, they are pretty cool. Went 700 on the lie detector, figure about 6-7 kgs.
