The one I have is "Marine fishes of North-Western Australia". There are a few other ones here. I forget which one it is with a blue neon damsel on the front, but a few seem to have that. My book doesnt cover south western australia though, so only northern species (or ones that are found in the north and here too). Though, it is a WA book, so no useless species we never get here.
I see them out diving around Rotto. Not a common fish and quick to swim away but see them often enough to say they are happy to hang out in 20 m around reefs

This was caught of the coast of Gnarloo in 50 -70 meters of water last week.. Released in good condition to fight again but need to know what it is.
Looked a little like a leather jacket but had scales unlike them. had a large spike on the top of its head shoulders...
