Colorful yellowfin grouper "Mycteroperca venenosa" caught on a 3.5 oz braid jig @ 300'depth, northeast coast Puerto Rico; by the way, as of today, not toxic, my cat and I still alive.

Great fish
Great fish Bucanero. What sort of combo were you using for your jigging?

gear used
I been using an accurate magnum 665x narrow reel on a shimano trevala rod with 80# spectra.Great combo for jigging, however the grouper was caught with a penn international 30 that we use for trolling with a standup 5'6"rod. A small 3.5oz Braid blue jig was used by my fishing buddy on that trolling combo, the first drop and there the fish was.
It was kind of an experiment with that gear, the penn is way too heavy, but it worked!
