mostly running sinker with fillets of the herring, from what i have heard, alot of the asians have been cleaning up, also up around belmont and ascot area.

I used to part a half hitch over the head for presentation if that helps
If you turn off Kirkham Hill terrace down east street in Maylands. there is a little beach to the east side of the jetty. You need to cast a fair way out onto the drop of a shell bed....best bream from there was 40+. Some stonkers there, mind you, that was some years back. Reckon musles with 'the hook' would do well!

We went out yesterday and picked up a couple behind ascot and belmont. then decided to hit up the yacht clubs for some big winter bream, got smoked twice at SPYC and didn't land any there, the fish were really finicky after the bustoffs. We then hit up the matilda bay area, once again very finicky fish, picked up 1 small fish and that was that for the day, came back to watch the eagles get flogged by the tigers, bugger.
Very frustrating when you can see the fish are there but they aren't interested.
I guess that's the fun and challenge Dean. 58cm one BT, uh huh AAA lists the WA black bream record at 2.980 Kg and national (SA) at 3.450 - no length though.

a couple of weeks ago, in front of the Seminary 100m upstream of the Lilac Hill bridge. I have not fished there for some years but it used to produce some great big ones and a give away was all the Nyoongars from around the Swan used to fish up and downstream from the bridge on both sides of the river.
That is a great area for bream. My first wive's family own a property around there where I had my own private bream spot. Some great bream hang around the reeds there. (Colin 1 - Co-founding member of the prestigious Colin Club)

Hey Blake T... :)
Not having a shot at you, as you say, you're only the messenger - but looking around on the net, it DOES now seem that a 60cm bream is maybe possible.
