Demersal Cray Bait
Submitted by Phantomcat on Thu, 2024-11-21 12:35A few people have commented about being warned by fisheries for having dermersal heads, frames etc for cray bait on board during dermersal ban period.
Havent they got anything better to do?
Will be interesting to see where they are going with this idiotic rule.

0.05 Imminent?
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Tue, 2024-11-19 16:58Lots of 14y Olds are gonna be doing their RST soon I reckon.
Personally I think it's a good thing as being >0.05 is pointless when I have to drive home anyways and there's some truely pissed units that should be in charge of a boat but could possibly have pushed it to 0.08.

bent street ramp
Submitted by piscetor on Tue, 2024-11-19 10:38I know i'm beating a dead drum but------ isn't amazing that the only part of warnbro sound that isn't a marine park is where they put the port kennedy boat ramp in?
If they can do it for tat ramp why not a new one at safety bay? our council is full of crap and not working for the rate payers of the area. Screw em.

Perth Marlin Trolling Spread
Submitted by Seahorse7 on Thu, 2024-11-14 23:04Gday All
I'm getting my trolling outfit set up properly for this summer and would appreciate any thoughts on the best set-up for a 6.8mtr boat, single outboard with 4.5mtr outriggers. I'll be using 37kg outfits with 80w reels, just not sure yet on how many lines I should go with, I'm leaning twoards 4, Will be 2 in the boat or solo. I'm fairly competent in a boat and no probs with 4 lines on tuna/dollies etc but havn't ran heavy outfits yet. Have teasers also.Want to maximise my changces of getting a large specimen to the boat if i hook up, because I will find them, just a matter of time!

Evinrude service
Submitted by joycey on Wed, 2024-11-06 23:17Hi,
After any recommendations for where to get my 2001 Evinrude serviced, my previous service provider says they don't service Evinrude's anymore.
I'm based South of the river.
Cheers,

Kayak Fishing
Submitted by JamesLC2024 on Wed, 2024-11-06 13:26Hey Guys,
Latley I have been interested in Kayak fishing and I am considering buying a fishing kayak.
Questions: What is a good kayak under $1000? Are 8ft rods too long for a kayak? How far out can you go? How stable are they? How hard are they to transport/get on the roof of a car? Do fishing kayaks have enough storage to be on the water for a few hours? Is it worth getting a small electric motor?
Thanks :)

Cray pot rope for anchor
Submitted by Paul N on Tue, 2024-11-05 14:43 Just a question . Is there any reason you can't use ex cray pot ropes as an anchor rope . I know it's not as easy on the hands but is that the only reason . See a lot of cray ropes for sale and thought it could be a good backup . Does anyone use it ?

clarity required regarding bag and boat limits
Submitted by Bullfrog1958 on Wed, 2024-10-30 16:04Hello everyone,
This might be a dumb question but I am going to ask it anyway. I am confused about whether I can catch my bag limit of demersals and then also target pelagics. I can't find anywhere in the guides that speaks in plain English. Is this a common complaint and question?

Colorados any good?
Submitted by Roughas on Mon, 2024-10-28 16:17G'day all. Bit off topic but I'm thinking about a Colorado diesel ute. As well as general reliability issues, what would they like for towing a 2.5-3.0 tonne boat? Any thoughts appreciated. Ta, John.

Taking out New Deckies on the boat - Protocol??
Submitted by barracuda on Tue, 2024-10-22 19:52Hey Legends, just wondering what is the GO for most of us taking out new fishing buddies?
I've been asking for them to bring $50 & some bait when heading out most the day and go half's in the catch
usually I'll have bait & get some pies cooking in the pie oven during the day.
be keen to hear your opinions and here is a vid of a few new fishing buddies that came out recently

Another day off Steep
Submitted by sunshine on Fri, 2024-10-18 17:13 Stunning day which started off with a big red emp taken in sight of the boat by a huge tiger shark. Wouldn't leave us alone so out to flat country in 90 metres where we cleaned up on cobia, snapper, robbos, pearl perch and red throat.

Towelled up by the missus...
Submitted by The Saint on Fri, 2024-10-11 17:51Manged to get out or a fish this week, first time out from Rocko in 2 years due to endless medical appointments, weather and of course, demersal bans.
But the stars finally aligned on Tuesday and the missus and I headed straight out to the 90 metre mark.
I had bagged out on the second drift, a pinky and a red snapper, and was giving the missus a rev up about her being fishless.
Next minute she was on, and managed to wrangle a big pinky from 90 metres, it went 79 cm and her PB.
F#%k me if she didn't follow it up with a bigger one just 1/2 an hour later - 84 cm.
All done and dusted by 9 am.
For the record my pinky only went 55 cm and the red slightly smaller ....
