I was just googling the "fremantle traffic bridge" and have come across some info that suggests that they are considering serious plans for the bridge.
Here are the options bieng discussed 2007...
The six options are:
Option 1: Retain existing bridge, but replace the navigation spans and deteriorated components
Option 2: Retain existing bridge, but replace the navigation spans and deteriorated components and incorporate bridge widening
Option 3: Construct a new standard bridge next to the current bridge, leaving a section of the existing bridge as a heritage and recreation site
Option 4: Construct a new bridge that is a major entry statement for Fremantle, leaving a section of the existing bridge as a heritage recreation site
Option 5: Construct a new standard bridge and retain the existing bridge as a pedestrian/cyclist facility
Option 6: Construct a new two lane standard bridge and retain the existing bridge as a 2 lane bridge with improved pedestrian/cyclist facilities
Here is the 2007 website link....
I just hope what ever mods are made that they build a walkway and platforms to fish off under there and much safer lol

Have it on good authority that bundegi boat ramp still hasn't started yet. The machinery that has been seen at the boat ramp is a driller, but it is only being used to drill down and determine how deep the rock locate below the surface is. This rock will serve to house the pillers for the ramp. One problem though, the rock is located 16 meters below the surface so it's too deep to use. A new method of fixing the pillers in is now being discussed. Can't see the ramp being finished before Xmas, maybe Gamex 2008.

Gidday guys , am heading down to Perth for a wedding on Sunday night (Driving from Tom Price) and was hoping for some advice on best options for getting tight to a fish or three . Was considering chasing bream , what's hot at the mo , lures or bait . Are the moles fishing at the moment or am I better off just finding a hole on the beach and throwing lures at it . (Gunna be around till the 17th or so)I don't know Perth very well .

How hard is it to change a guide on the tip of a rod?
the tip guide in one of my rods has had the alconite "fall out" of it and I was wondering how hard it would be to get a new guide, or put new alconite in the guide thats on it?
Hard to do yourself - if not how? And if it is, how much approx would it usually cost to replace a guide on the tip of a rod by a rod builder/store?

At 0130 last night i woke to a horrific noise of wheels locked up on bitumen and the following noise of car crashing and rolling off the road. I live near a common road in karratha and some car had rolled, thats what woke me up. I immediately got out of bed, grabbed the first aid kit, the mobile phone and ran outside in my bordies and thongs to see if there was something i could do. i ran up the road and across the bit of scrub, past an idiot who was watching having a beer and not helping one bit. As i was running through te scrub, i rang 000 to get an ambulance ASAP. I got to the car in about a minute and helped the drunk non licensed 16 year old driver pull a passenger out of the car, that was on its roof about thirty meters off the road. The guys arm was nackered, cut, probably broken. We dragged him up to the road, at this stage the police arrived. They did a great job. I think there was about 5 kids, that's what they were kids. One ran from the scene and left the rest, cops caught him though. It was a bloody mess the car, everyone was ok, luckily. For all the young fellas out there, that was a real sight last night, something i don't want to have to do again, i know most of you do the right thing. Please don't be complacent and just do the right thing.

Hey guys,
Consequent to nick's post that hes going to be at swan fish location from 7-8am sat and sunday, I wanna put it out there to see whos interested in a night fish this weekend?
Reason being, tide changes this weekend in the river are co-inciding with sunset which make an awesome combination for feeding bream which means sat night and sunday night will be awesome contenders to pull some horses out of the swan!
Anyone wanna head down burswood or east perth, maybe even the narrows on sat night or sunday night?
Im thinking of covering some ground at east perth and if nothing works, working the causeway, heirsson island and pond and then back towards burswood if that doesnt produce?
Just seeking numbers of interest because if we can get a crew together, it will make for a more memorable time...
although, be prepared to work ground, thus bring gear that you can move with :)
PM's or replies welcome.

went fishing today again for bream with tyson...
ty caught 3, max 26cm..

However, I did catch another fish... it looked like a "smooth" bream with a lot of yellow on it... had a couple of dark fingerprint style patches on it too....
Have NO idea what fish it was though??? Anyone know based off that description?

I'm looking for some help with getting into using soft plastics offshore. I would like to use them for a variety of fish from tuna/dollies to Pinkys and Dhufish. My problem is theres so many different types of plastics and jigs etc I just dont know where to start. I didnt want to just use the standard power grub as a bait replacement but try different types. I've been thinking of trying Snapbacks and Flick baits in the white/pearl type colours but I'll wait for experts thoughts b4 going out and buying some.
If anyone their thoughts on the following it would be much appreciated:
1) To Anchor & burley or Drift as normal 2) Jig head type/size 3) Plastic style - Shad/Worm etc 4) Colours 5) Retrieve methods
Now that Ive asked for all the answers can anyone give me some really good GPS points to try them out on as well - Just Kidding.

I have never fished in the sound and would like to try and catch a pinkie if they can be caught in the daytime. Any advice welcome , time of day , bait to use , where to try. Thanks Paul

Hi guys, does anyone out there own a 300 curado? I'm considering buying one as a barra reel, but my only concern is that it might not cast as well as the 200-sized curado, which I've used and liked. How does the 300 go throwing smallish lures like Flatz Ratz at snags? I want to get the 300 because the extra capacity would allow me to use it for trolling too. Planning to put 30lb braid on it. I currently use a calcutta 400, but compared to a curado, it feels pretty average to cast with.
