2 stroke outboard oils

Hey guys! What 2 stroke oil do you use and are there much difference between the brands? My dad has always used Valvoline tcw3 and recommends it. However, the place where I got my Johnson Ocean Pro 150 recommends Quicksilver. I am very interested to hear peoples' thoughts on this, especially owners of 2 stroke Johnson/Evinrude outboards.
Thanks in advance!

Some 2 strokes seem to get a little temprimental on the brands of oil ran through them. Might be a bit of trial and error until you find what works for you. Try what has been recommended and go from there.
For what it's worth I have always had a good run with yamalube.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

I have a Johno ocean pro 135 2 banger. most reliable motor. 9 years never a failure.
I have used a couple of oils through its life and now I use pretty well only the quicksilver. (Mercury oil) A while back I changed to the Valvoline tcw3 (didn't have a choise if I wanted to fish )and the smoke was ridiculous....hard to start. changed back to quicksilver and I have my reliable motor back.
I would definitely stay away from Valvoline with a johno ocean pro.
Im not saying that the Valvoline is crap .....like dodgy above said some motors are just temperamental.
In case you are interested lol :)

johno
I used to have a Johno 2 banger, the marine mechanic recommended using good quality oils like nautilus or quicksilver which I did. I am not sure what happened but I couldnt find nautilus anywhere after a while so I went to the valvoline as the price was right. It was possibly a bit smokier but hard to tell with with those old johno's as they are smoky at the best of times, never had any problems from it

Penrite have a 'low smoke' marine two stroke oil which I found worked pretty well in my Johno 70hp (still smoked but less)

I have also read on some of the US forums that Penrite is also a good oil brand, especially for low smoke.
