Submitted by fishoe on Sun, 2013-12-01 14:41
Hey,
I've been gearing up for 2013 FAD season and for YFT, reading up on info available.
Got 21ft reef runner. Anyone got any info they'd like to share I would appreceiate it or expeirenced boaties keen to head out in convoy for Dolly/YFT mission.
-I've been keeping an eye on the temps and know waters a bit cool still. Possibly later in December or when temps are warmer.
Some nice weather would help aswell...
Cheers Ryan

Pretty sure they tagged it mate. Didn't bring it in.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Tagged
Yep Tagged. Plus a number raised a few weeks ago.
Who would have thought this early off Perth ;). Just goes to show you catch more fish by getting out there and chasing them than sitting onshore.
Ryan - Wouldn't call it too early. As I said a number of bills raised already and YFT (small and larger models)and Macs already caught. Just get out and give it a go. You just never know

Im all setup for some deep drop in the canyon i just need a boat
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

2013 FADS season
I'm keen for the FADS/YFT and deerp drop as well, I've been out their before just not a lot of success but have squared away 2013/14 as my sumer of local fishing (not employed/working for a while). I fish out of Safety Bay and have a 6.5 glass boat that's well set up and very safe. I would be interested in setting up a few trips in the company of other boats, have few mates here but once I work out how to contact other fisho's direct on this site I'll get in contact.
Acceptance is the key

why dont you get your facts
for dollies (on a weekend) you need to be there at first light IMO.....on nice days there will be 100s of boats out there, and you just wait till the dirty spearos just jump in and shut down each fad......
Ritcher pink and white jelly babies, soft plastics work and if th343 are deep try a jig,
or you just do what i do and take iff in the miffke

Cheers for the advice guys.
-I've heard it gets busy out there when the weather is good, was thinking possible mid week session. Would definitely like to go in the company of a other boats.
Maybe just a case of waiting for the right weather and teeing it up Tim and Gman66.

spooking dollies
...waiting for the weather to play the game.
Some guys have said to troll right past the FADs with skirts and such. Others say to drift up and flick plastics, slices or let a livey get nailed.
I've been told that the FADs can shut down pretty quick if you spook the dollies off the surface by trolling or driving to close to the buoys.
Thoughts?
