3 Mile Goodness

Hey All,

Headed out to the 3 mile with johnf yesterday for a troll.Although conditions were just about perfect the assortment of weed had me working up a sweat clearing the spread every 2 minutes. We persisted for about 1 hour by heading out a bit deeper to try and find some clear water but it was not to be.With the sun heading towards the horizon we had luckily packed the back up placcy outfits and it didn't take long with a small bonito taking a liking to my placcy. It went a bit quiet for half an hour and then john hooked up to something fairly solid on his 10lb outfit which was keeping us guessing,it came up fairly slowly but didnt pull much string.Well until it came into a view and saw the boat :) I nice little long nose Grey had a appointment with the deep fryer.

I then hooked up to another Little shark which last dash for freedom was granted by some hook pulling.
shortly after that john's placcy got hoovered on the drop and the 2500 certate was fizzing.Hoping he had not hooked a bigger version of the toothy brigade he was more stoked than a kid in a candy store when a fat 76cm pink slid into view.

So a very enjoyable trip even though i was thoroughly out fished by the senior skipper.

cheers

Chris

The pinkie was at the limit

Fri, 2012-01-20 21:31

The pinkie was at the limit of the gear, 10 lb power pro braid, 15 lb leader on the samurai and 2500 Certate outfit. Chrisp had to do a bit of chasing with the boat when a bricking looked a certainty.

Hope you enjoyed the last sneaky session chris before your next bambino arrives. Good luck to you and the missus.

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Yeah, we had drifted off our little sot which is the off shore side of the 3 mile, quite some way whilst we pondered a lost shark and we were right on top, just about to reset the drift.......
