3rd trip in a row dramas!!!
Well im now back from my holiday in Karratha. Gee what a time!!!
Got busted off many times by MONSTER unknowns!!!!!
The worst was when i was feeding a unweighted gardie out the back of the dingy and there was loads of slack line and i noticed a 20kg+ either wahoo or big mack jump so i flicked the bailarm over and no joke, the line tangled around it!!! SNAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lost it! I was frantically tryin to undo it but ran out of time. It was like a bad dream.
Ended up catching a smal shark mackeral, and about 3 small black tips which i released
We also went to point samson and i landed 3 nice mangrove jacks. Lost a good GT and Threadfin aswell.
We also went out on a mates boat around the burrup and i caught my first coral trout, small spaniard and spangled emperor. I didnt have my camera this day :(
NOW FOR THE DELEMA..
My mate told his girlfrend that we were fishing for 6 days and she said only if you look after Bella (2yr old girl ) for the night on monday nite only so she could go out with the girls. We agreed. Well me and 3 mates were heading to a fishing spot at 12pm on monday on the dingy and we went through a big passage to get to open ocean. We fished there for a few hours till 3.30 and decided we should head home to be home around 5pm. As we enterd the passage, we were flying along!!!! 40+kph!!! I was looking over the side of the boat and noticed that the previos 5meters+ deep water was only 0.5 meters so i yelled to my mate to STOP THE BOAT!!!! Unfortunatly i was to slow and we run aground . I said to them that the best idea was to hop out to get the weight off the boat and push it. So we all hopped out and started pushing the dingy in this kilometer wide passage. I seen about 15 sharks go past, each time i dived into the boat packin myself, i had turtle swim past and fish. It was amaising! We must of got about 50meters before its was ankle deep and we couldnt go any further.
I said to my mate "Whens the tide due in"??? he said "9.30pm" This was real bad!!!! We had no phone reception and no lights on the dingy and no torch. Also there was no moon due that night. I suggested that we walk to the edge of the passage and climb the hills and try get reception. We all agreed so 2 of us went for a walk dodging small sharks, stingrays, mudcrabs and turtles and walked up onto the shore. Right about then my left thong had a blowout so i waited on a small hill while my mate went higher. Now for the big news stuff....I looked to my left and noticed a etching into the rock and walked over and no joke, about 50 rock aboriginal etchings of pictures of crabs, stingrays , turtles etc I yelled for my mate to come over and we agreed to come back and GPS mark the spot and take pics but for now we were in big trouble with his GF haha.We had no phone reception. Well 9.30 came and tide came in and we motord back to the boat ramp in darkness , had the sea rescue out looking for us and a mates gf ready to tear strips off us. I went back and took pics and marked the spot and guess what??? Im the first to ever find these ones!!! My name will be recorded as the person to descover them!!!!! I will also be able to name the site.
There are a few rock art in the burrup but these have never been seen by anyone!!! The west australian wants to do a story but there may be legal issues due to us not being allowed on that bit of land so im trying to contact idiginous affars to find out. .
Since found out that the burrup rock art is 20,000-40,000 years old. Oldest in the world
pics to follow....

I have been told by aboriginal affairs not to show anyone some of the pics so sorry but i wont post them..
This is how it all happend....
Cruising through the massive wide passage, 6+ meters deep know idea that at low tide it would be ankle deep and shallow...

Then the sadness.....

Stuck high and dry for 6 hours with no way of alerting the mates girlfreind to let her know we were ok

Rick : Yeah i feel sorry fo my mates gf. She was stressing hard because we said we would be back at 4ish and had no lights etc. We rolled in at 10.30-11pm at the boatramp.
We did our homework and checked the charts & maps before we left to go fishing and the passage looked massive and it was. It even had "boat passage" on the charts. It was totally unexpected.
: Indigenous affairs asked if i could name it a aboriginal name inwhich i may. Main thing is that my full name will be the one who descoverd it
Bodie, They are my mates who live up there and dont want to be shown. They have given many people / mates crap about being stranded at low tite. Bit of kama hahaha

There is a petroglyph on the Burrup
that shows an old style sailing ship in the background and a sailor standing on shore with a cutlass tied to his waist. Some people suspect it may be William Dampier.
It is very well hidden and not many people know about it.

To stop the locals from finding out who beached
And then taking the Mick out of em.
However it is easy to do and I suspect it was flying foam passage from the picks.

Hi Ya,
I never seem to be amazed by the fact you manage to fall on your feet so often.
Steep (or where ever it was) when the boat people arrived; Hamelin when the whales stranded; aboriginal rock art ... When will it stop.
Oh, by the way, do you have next Saturday's winning lotto numbers?
Well done.
Cheers.

Haha cheers ody, yeah these
Haha cheers ody, yeah these things happen and have been going on for years now eg.....
Here is just a few....
Some of the list goes...
Saved in total 3 peoples lives , 6yr old boy who fell from a jetty and started to drown. He started to sink so i dived in and swam down 3 meters and pulled im up. Saved a old lady who rolled her car. I ran over and kicked her window in and ripped door open and carefully undid her seatbelt and let her down while she was still upside down because car was still on the roof leaking fuel everywhere. Ended up cutting my hand on broken glass.
Was watch a mate pull apart a extentioncord (3 faze) with a screw driver and i looked if it was pulgged in while he was undoing the plug with the screw driver. It was plugged in and turned on!!! I dived for him knocking the screwdriver from his hand in the knick of time.
many more things to help people that were in desperate need of help but not life threatning.
Whitnessed a murder year and a half back at the front of my house , still going through court with that .
I was in the servo a year ago and as i went to walk out 2 robbers came running in , we collided at the sliding doors. I had one robber pull 2 filleting knives on me.
Helped a aboriginal ladie a few months back bleeding from her head stomch (stabbed) at calted benara rd. I just happen to roll up once the boyfreind dragged her out of the car.
Whitnessed a man dragging wife out of the house by her hair and stabbing her in the back back when i was about 15. She is now in a wheel chair for life.
4 weeks ago i was at a mates and we took off in his ute and noticed cops running across a park we stopped and asked if they needed a hand and they asked for us to take them to a house in beechboro , we said yes and took them. On the way we asked what happend and they said they had a guy in the back of a unmarked WRX and while the cops were checking something the dud in the back jumped in the wrx and took off , stole the cop car!!!!
That was kept hush hush from the media lol.
Thats just a couple things that have happend.
Everyone thinks im full of crap but this stuff just keeps going on!

Remarkable Story
Good story and brilliant pics Mark, two mates and I took a short cut through a passage to get into Flying foam Passage some years back and we too found the water to be shallow and had to walk and drag the boat meanwhile seeing Turtles and Bluebone swim by, not a nice feeling.

I think you should try and
I think you should try and get in contact some some of the well known identies in the media and see if they can give u any pointers /tips or maybe even a mentor type role ( most are very easy to talk to and are happy to pass on advice ), before u do any of that put together a solid portfolio ( there are professionals out there that can help with that). I think u obviously have the talent for telling a good story ,taking good pics and being in the right place at the right time, now all u need is the break to get ur foot in the door . Good luck and keep trying u just never know when ur chance will arrive.

Cheers Bod, yeah Aboridginal
Cheers Bod, yeah Aboridginal affairs and heritage minister was very happy.
The wierd thing was only a week before i went away i was at home watching "time team" (show english about acheology) and i said to my mate that i would love to do that kind of thing and discover stuff form along time ago but i said that in australia our history dates back to 1798ish so descovering something from the 1600's etc just wont happen.
Little did i know that just a week later my dream would come true.
The scientists that went out there and studied the pics said that they are between 10,000-15,000 yrs old.
