Willyweather has 7.2m swell &
Willyweather has 7.2m swell & winds staying under 30 knots. Either way the north mole will be closed that night & probably most of the next day. I'll be there as soon as it opens up again.

Yup, pretty sure they close
Yup, pretty sure they close it anytime it's over 5m & they keep it closed after the storm until they have checked for damage. I agree it's a bit soft but I guess that's to be expected these days when people seem to lack some common sense & don't know how to approach these kinds of situations properly. I'd love to get out there on the night but I'm 99% sure it'll be closed. I'll keep watching the ports website though, if they don't put up a notice I'll be there with wets on.

With a now predicted 9.1m
With a now predicted 9.1m swell (Rottnest Willy Weather) , I might head Freo way just to watch the ocean and appreciate how big the waves can be.

Looking at the forecast I
Looking at the forecast I think I'd leave the boat at home & fish landbased instead. Save yourself some fuel money & there's still plenty of quality fish to be had landbased. Can find a spot to fish around Exxy in almost any weather if you do a bit of exploring.

Boat
I'd definitely take the boat, there are plenty of spots in the gulf to fish if its too rough on the western side.

And we're booked for Rotto on Wednesday!!!!!!!!
Can't see the ferry leaving.
We were on the ferry coming home last year when Perth had the BIG storm, that took 70 minutes
to get back. Was supposed to leave 8.40am but had to wait till 1.30pm for a break.
This shit seems to follow us each time we go to Rotto.

Tinny
Yes Tim-o I agree and best leave the big boat at home. The tinny handles so much better in those heavy seas
ps where is fisho92 when you need him?

Funny you say that tim, one day out in a storm our rod tips were humming, and the line was floating out of the water at head height, 5m from the boat in a big upwards bow down to our bait on the bottom...

Any of the rockwalls will be
Any of the rockwalls will be worth a go except perhaps for Coogee. ASI is very popular with the snapper hunters & I've caught a couple from both Hillaries & Mindarie. Deeper beaches are worth a try after the worst of the wind is past, I've caught more pinks from beaches than I have rockwalls & jetties. It can be hard work fishing the beaches when the wind is blowing & the waves are big but if you have a long rod that can hurl 6-8oz of lead + bait & your casting is up to scratch it can be done.

Very high tide
here in Leeman ocean is calm, horizon is very calm. Noticed most of the crayfisherman have brought in their dinghy's for the bad weather tomorrow.
Clouds are rolling in quite quickly, batten down the hatches people for tomorrow. It sounds like the still before the storm up here 22c, very slight n/w'er blowing. Quiet as anything. Clouds are getting darker from the n/w.
Stay safe people.

Freo to Bali yacht race victim
Noticed a couple of yachts in the harbour this morning sheltering from the bad weather, one, Walk on the Wild Side minus its mast.
Doesn't look nice down the beach, dirty brown water, beach disappearing and very rough considering we are reasonably sheltered inside the bay.

I'm not to sure about that
I'm not to sure about that with this yacht-as in this pic you can see that it is still attached to it's mooring,so something has snapped below the mooring rope.

+1 Matt
Moking, 90% of the boats breaking moorings in Mangles Bay/ Palm Bch are from shackles breaking away from the anchoring system, below the surface. i have had 15m boats moored in Mangles bay for the past 20 years and never once has one broken away. The mooring owners dont realise that the moorings need to be serviced every 6 months to ensure no problems are encounted this time of the year.
Beau, the marina will be no help for the majority of these vessels that end up on the beach. 70% of the moorings in Mangles bay will not move when the marina is built, and unfortunately most of the owners that have boats moored in Mangles bay now will not be able to afford a pen in the marina.

Moking ???
I take it you are implying the name on the vessel should exclude it to landing on the beach?
Even commercial operators or organisations are not exempt from poor maintence programs, otherwise this vessel would not be beached

Took the dog for a walk along whats left of the beach this morning and you could have surfed from out the front of the prawning jetty all the way to the beach. Was fairly blowing its ring off.

also agree about the hawks supporters, cant wait till they lose again so we can all get something back to say on Tim - o, at the moment you cant stop him, but fair enough haha.
