4wd spotties. Electrical advice needed

Hi, any gurus out there that can help me with advice?

I have old school halogen spotties and I want to replace with led. Can I just cut the old wires on the halogens where they are mounted and simply rewire the new led wires in? So I don't have to muck around  running new wires/fuses/switch. I assume leds wouldn't need a bigger fuse?

Cheers
