I got the light blue filters

I got the light blue filters for my Lightofrce 170's.  They give the light a more whiter appearance rather than the yellow of halogen. Personnally i think its a little easier on my eyes, but the main reason i changed to them is i also changed my headlight bulbs to brighter white ones(cool white) than the factory yellow(warm white) at the same time, and now it means that when all my lights are on, they are all around the same colour. But if you only have standard yellow(warm white) halogens on your car headlights and dont plan on changing them you might as well leave the clear covers on that way your light spread is all the same colour. JMO  :)

I changed over to blue, I dont think they make that much if any difference.  The light seems whiter but is that better? I dunno

I'm not positive however I have heard some of the whiter or blue lights aren't legal due to the fact they aren't as good in the rain due to poorer penetration, much the same as yellow fog light penetrate fog better.  The legality side might not apply to spot lights as such though..

Yeah saw that when i went and bought new bulbs for my driving lights there was an uber white model that even stated it wasnt legal for on road use. So decided against that one.

http://www.invisionsales.com/lighting/philips-globes/

Ended up with the X-xtreme Vision +100%, which were a hell of alot whiter than my OEM Halogens, but not as white as the upper models.

From what i gathered spotlights didnt matter(though i have never really looked into the legalities of spotlight colour). Though did read on a 4wd forum about someone over in NSW getting a fine for having a couple or red lens's on his roof spot lights for when he goes hunting. Seemed a strange one seeing that they were on a separate switch to turn on/off away from the normal spotlights for driving on his bullbar.

The problem is if your normal car headlights are yellow in appperance and you have a spotlight that is white/blue in apperace when you dip you will find you will be quite blind untill your eyes adjust back to the yellowish light.
