Advice on fishing Carnavon ??

Planning a fishing trip to Carnarfin 2013, first time in the comp and first time in carnarvon fishing ??
Any tips or help on where to fish ??
I have a 6.1m boat and plenty of fuel to make it to the islands
Any tips would be great

make sure when you are bottom fishing you put out a heavy line down with a livey on nearly garunteed to get a big estury cod
and i forgot to add kia ora in there which is a 70 metre deep ridge that runs for a few miles west of the island get everything out there if you fish it just keep moving along it untill you find a spot where you are cleaning up,
one of the only places i have come accross full schools of red emporer we got 37 of them there one day double eaders and double hook ups nearly every drop
