Funny thing about footy. if you are first to the ball, and actualy want the ball, you tend to draw frees. And if you are chasing bums instead of the ball, and let your frustrations boil over, you tend to concede frees. Umps can't help you with that, I'm afraid. Freo backs were panicking every time the ball came in, as well they should. And it was good to see mcLovin back where he belongs.
Apart from that, enjoyed watching freo and their supporters get a reality check.

McCarthy is certainly looking like a good pickup for the Dockers. And my earlier prediction re Lurch and just sharking his taps proved largely correct.

Eagles' next trip to the G will be in September, if they make the finals. Call me suspicious, but since the two initial premiereships and the collective howling and bitching by the Melbourne metro clubs about a de-facto state of origin team, etc, there seems to be an unspoken agreement to give West Coast as little time at the G as possible. They just couldn't get over us, WA, taking "their" cup away from them. Twice in 3 years. Even now that we really have moved to a truly (sort of)national competition, rather than them viewing it as the "VFL-with-a-few bits tacked on but thanks for the extra money"--still don't seem to get many games at their shrine, their holiest of holies.
Anyway, what's the Docker's record at the G? Not winding you up, just curious?

What is your actual overall record? Much is made of the Eagles having a bit less than 50% record there, what's the Dockers?
Randal should be able to answer that, he's your stats man--but he's doing something more worthwhile than what we are, at the moment

I can remember the precious Pies chartering a private jet for the trip home, once. They consider going up the freeway to Geelong as interstate, don't they
20 home games a year? Enough G practice, not that they ever get that far, very often. There was a F'in hilarious cartoon in the West, once, supposedly a letter written by A. Rocca (pfft, as if he could write) to his family about a trip they were doing over to WA,on an areoplane 
but, had to because "apparently they are part of our competition" and other such gems. Have to see if I can google it, brings back a much earlier era.

Geelong havent beaten anyone really in form and in typical Geelong fashion they've had a couple of close calls with come from behind wins...
I wasn't brave enough to tip the pies but to me the pies look like they've got a solid list...
Richmond are gone as i expected, the Saints and the Dees might make a run at it now....
Unfortunately i think the Dees will pump the Hawks next week....
Port and the Eagle could be a good game as will the Saints and GWS....
