Thanks for the good news Paul (Lol)
I think there is a nor west wind tipped to blow sometime as well. That is not a good combination.

Imo and only been fishing
Imo and only been fishing deep for the last year but i have found if there is a northerly current and a northely wind the only effective method of fishing is drift baiting i tend to find that the bait holds bottom better than bottom bashing. The bait tends to drift with the boat as i said imo but i would like to hear others opinions. We are heading out tomorrow night for our first night time bottom bash and i was just curious when the northerly current is flowing fast is there a lull time or does it stay like that 24/7 meaning is it like the tides in the river when u get a still tide period. thanks for the heads up paul good chance it wont stop us getting out there though fish or no fish couple of beers with the boys.

The current is constant,not
The current is constant, not like high and low tides ,while the wind is in the NE-NW the tide will be there ,we anchored up last night with a SW light breeze and the lines were under the boat ,still got a few snapper and a dhuie on the three mileits out 15-20 mile where the current shuts the fish down .maybe not for all out fishing but for me yes i was heading out Sunday but if the current is still there i'll dive instead.

cheers for that paul any sor
cheers for that paul any sor blokes know where the current starts down this way my thoughts are that once u past rotto u would start getting the strong currents last time out on a dead calm day we did notice a current line mirror calm on one side and a slight chop on the other there was also a line of plankton where the change was
