Amateur Radio

Just getting back into this for a new license, was a ham radio radio operator a long time ago, but let it go back in the late 90's. Just bought a new radio and have built a new antenna to go as well. Plenty of stuff coming in from Europe this afternoon. Anyone else on here doing it or have been a ham radio operator before?
Cheers
Dale

Used to be VK6XI
Lapsed it when I moved into a suburb that banned large antennas ...............my original set up was a 6 element quad (6 on 10, 5 on 15 and 4 on 20) with the 70 foot tower standing on insulators and capacitance loaded to work really well on 40 and 80 mind you it had an extensive ground wire system and we used to live on the banks of the Canning so a brilliant ground
Still miss it, had close acquaintances all over the world and arranged one of the most successful trips to VK0HI ever (and should have gone myself but for work commitments

Still waiting for decent
Still waiting for decent weather to coincide with my days off the push up a new antenna! I guess one good thing come of it though as I whacked on an extra set of elements while waiting. 5 element Gizmotchy combo vertical / horizontal through a new ATU should do the trick from here.
cheers
