A quick look around the Mandurah Boat Show today

Hi all

Went along to the Mandurah boat show this afternoon and wandered around for about 3 hours. Lots on display and lots of gear for sale at marked down prices....no doubt by Sunday arvo they'll be giving the stuff away.

Caught up with Michael from Chivers Marine for a chat about his Kimberley boat trip he went on earlier in the year with CCC...nice guy and very helpful with info from the trip, as well as some advice on getting the most out of my Lowrance HDS8m.

Lots of nice shiny boats and all the major manufacturers were represented. A few that took my fancy included a 680 Trailblazer and at $74k, was quite reasonable. Also, a Tattoo boats 700 crew cab, 9.5m Razorline & a Chivers 220 White Pointer. The Alpha RB36 Explorer will set you back $325k.

The multi million dollar vessels took their places on the marina and they were all pretty flash and nice to look at. Black was a popular colour this year.

There were even a few high end cars there including a convertible Bugatti, a Maserati, Lambougini, Aston Martin and a Jag...definitely drool material.

regards

Tried to rain this arvo

Fri, 2012-10-12 22:06

It came over all grey and tried hard to rain...did spit a bit around 4pm, as I was leaving.

Those inflatables started at $800 and would be just the ticket if you're looking for a ship to shore vessel.

There were lots to see (and buy) inside the big marquee...fishing and boating gear of all sorts but I managed to leave the credit card in the wallet....at least for today!

I could here the team navy boat clearly from home. Did you see it? I think it was about 1.30. From what I heard I am going to make sure I am down there to see it today!

I saw the team navy boat tied up to the jetty and later on I heard it on the water...that unmistakable sound of powerful twin V8s at high revs.

Hey Chris, Michael did say you were looking at the White Pointer..that's why i included a pic for you!

I didn't look too closely at the prices of the electronics but I imagine there would be lots of 'boat show specials'.
