just wondering if any fishwrecked members out there of European descent have their dad or granddad making up home made grappa , I wouldn't mind a bottle to get me through winter happy to pay a fair price

Chances
Don't like your chances mate. My nonno(grandad) would part with his wife before parting with his grappa.

Not European but making up a
Not European but making up a batch of plum brandy (Grappa) with a mate here in Adelaide. (same as with grapes but plums give a slightly sweeter taste).
Also have a bottle of stuff which is very good at cleaning whiteboards (not so good to drink)!!

Immigrants
What are you trying to stir up Keg ? Immigrants have been coming in for 200 + years. Maybe you are referring to the non-European immigrants who dont drink that sh*t ?

Kirup Syrup
Not as potent as grappa but Kirup Syrup used to pack a punch, a very rough red wine produced on a farm at Kirup and only sold at the pub?.
Surfies loved it because one flagon of the stuff would wipe about 6-7 of them out for hours.
They got prosecuted for adulterating it years back by adding stuff from another source. Not sure if it is still available

Used to have a Masso bird at work, and one of her relies used to make it.
A work tradition (which has since died) was to have a shot of Gammeldansk (sp?) with our bacon and egg rolls on a Friday morning. Think fermented dehydrated cats piss.
Our resident Masso girl thought it be good to bring in a bottle of Grappa. Had most of the office drunk at 9:00 in the morning three weeks in a row. Once we realised that we could only have half shots, the productivity went up.
