Submitted by vlad1975 on Sun, 2010-09-19 20:09
My friend and i are planning to go overnight fishing on the holidays coming. we never done beach fishing. so we been surfing the web on learning how to read the water and trying to figure out how to find the gutter but nothing make any sence.
Does anyone have a tip on how to find the gutter or a link or perhaps a picture of gutter area?

Reading the surf
Polarised sunnies are good to reduce glare and the higher the better if you want to study the water.
Plenty of beaches in the metro area have great gutters at the moment due to the affect of winter waves on the beach. Best bet is to get googling for images to help you out!
Depending on where you are fishing you might want to look for structure such as reef in the water, holes in reef, rips, etc as well.
