saw a couple of big ones in the shopping centre this morning, I said to them ohh, are you two ladies from Scotland, one said in a grumpy voice, "No Wales". I said ohhh so where are you two whales from then ? ... then I ran really fast .... lol
Saw at least 8 on direction bank out of mindarie 2 weeks ago bang on 40m deep, none closer.

Been a few pods coming through the waters off Carnarvon for the last fortnight or so.
Saw about 10-12 last Sunday morning when out doing a training exercise with water police
Heapssss up at Coral Bay right on the back of the reef - my sister counted 29 the other day when we were just out the south passage and they must have all been in very shallow water (5-15m)
Last 3 trips out (in the last month) we have seen whales every time most recently yesterday about 25 km directly out from hillarys. Great arvo again yesterday, lot of fish around at the moment, sent a lot of undersized dhus back down and still managed to bag out
I went out for a day on a buddies boat towards the abhrolis islands on sunday just gone and there were dozens playing around, not to mention twice as many dophins enjoying life..
My bad.. all i can say is AG school, kinda missed the english side of things :) i thought metro was any large place of population.. If they are coming past Geraldton, id imagine they also dropped into the "real" metro area on the way north.
Yea mate heaps of reports of wales in the last few weeks 1 bloke had a pod of minki wales swimimg around his boat for the whole day 4 mile off hillarys he got some good underwater shots
Last Monday I had a smallish whale circle my boat near Rottnest, probably a dwarf minki. I also heard the Fremantle harbour master warning ships of a large humpback whale in Cockburn sound.
