anyone dive today?

just seeing if anyone went for a dive today? if so how did ya go?

We went for our first season dive just off the first reef out of mindarie.  Was great to get in the water again! was a little bit chilli though visibility was great. Saw a few crays, cuttlefish, a big seahorse which was cool and few other things.

Tested out my new computer - one thing it showed was the water temp which was 17c. Does anyone know what temp the water gets to in the summer months?

I just rechecked my logs. That last dive is down as 16.6.

Coldest dive logged was 11.1 down at 35m with Deco  from WAD

Never been below 14 degrees, so I would be scared of 11 I think. In the 5mm at least.

snorkel

Mon, 2009-09-28 12:15

Jumped in for a snorkel with the seals yesterday at little island, was a beautiful day after bout 1 in the avo actually felt like summer! cruised around the shallows most of the avo scored a new anchor someone had cut off, a tennis ball and heaps of plastic bags :) ended up anchoring at little island and just sat there for a few hours on the front of the boat enjoying the sun and eating lunch. water was nice tho three seals in the water too.

usually get a surface temp of round 23-24 never really notice the bottom temp as only just started diving with a computer

Doing commercial diver course

Mon, 2009-09-28 20:26

Has been pretty chilly, but still got a long way to go so best not to think about it. The instructor has said to the class, theres now no such thing as too cold or sharks so dont ask to come up for those two reasons :P
