Panasonic lumix underwater

We're going to be upgrading cameras - looks like we'll be getting the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7
http://www.panasonic.com.au/products/details.cfm?productID=7160
I was going to get an underwater housing for it too and make this my dive camera. Has anyone used a Panasonic Lumix camera under water? They seem to take a nice pic above water so i'm assuming it's just as good underwater:)
Is there anything else that I should be considering when looking for a dive camera?
cheers

You may want to check this
You may want to check this site for some diver specific photography stuff. The user GingerNinja just got himself a Lumix from memory.

Olympus u
G'day Wayne,
I've used a lumix, probably an older one than that one, underwater and really didnt like it...i think one of the main reasons was (from memory) that there is a pause after you push the button to when the pic gets taken...so was hard to get photos of fish. I think it was also having trouble with the focussing, etc...underwater. I am not an expert with photography, but im also not a mug...and i didnt get many good shots with this camera, and i blame it!!
a great point and shoot one that i have used is the Olympus micro(?), the one with the little mu symbol, looks like a 'u'. I think it is also waterproof to like 5m even without the special housing...
it had special underwater settings, which worked really well, i got some really good photos with it the very first time i used it (it wasnt mine, hence my details are a bit sketchy!!) - i didnt have to read any instructions or anything...the focussing was great, and the light and flash settings were really good for underwater useage, and i think it takes the photo if you push the button down, even if it thinks it is not in focus, which i think is good cos you just dont always get the time to auto focus, just got to snap when that 25 kg dhu rockets past you!!
anyhoo just my opinions and the Lumix i used was 2 years ago, so things may have changed - i hope you get a good one!! nothing better than a speccy photo of a cool memory!
cheers,
Ewan

Got one my self and think it
Got one my self and think it dose a pretty good job. you can get rid of the pause in the settings. the housing is a bit on the expensive side but i cant fault the camera and have some pretty good shots as well as lots of *#*# shots a lot of it depends on the vis when shooting, have had some realy good shots on the macro settings though
