Mon, 2017-02-27 08:48

 Hey jimbob01,

entered swanfish (swan river fishing comp) on weekend and fished all saturday night through to sunday at mosman park (landbased),

not even a bite myself, and no mulloway caught by anyone,

but an awesome snapper caught at claremont, (pretty sure was 10.6kg)

thanks, Sharkhunter1

Hardly got a bite

Mon, 2017-02-27 09:01

i headed out on Saturday for a fish with high expectations. Fished for most the day hardly got a decent bite. Tried everything, different spots, bait, jigging, ended up anchoring on a lump and burleyed up to get a just sized pink snapper and a big skippy. Was hard work. A good mate went out aswel and didn't get a bite all day after bagging out with big pinks and dhus on Thursday.

Mon, 2017-02-27 09:13

We went out from 9.30 to 2pm on Saturday at the 5FB tried different depths 10, 20, 30m it was hard work with nothing to show. Used the shore catch burley, tried mullies, squid, fresh wrasse... nada.

Ended up going to Carnac to flick for some Herring.... they were there in plague proportions after burleying up. Good fun catching these with a lure. Hardest part is to land them in the boat.

Rockingham Major/Minor times

Tue, 2017-02-28 13:21

We went out to the 40's, did ok but seemed to drop off at 10am-1pm.

I thought the major was at 4.57am - 6.57am and minor 11.47-12.47pm? What do you use to get the prediction??

Will post a report up over the next day or so.

Cheers

Mon, 2017-02-27 15:10

I still hadn't pulled a size dhu onto my boat after 8 undersizeys and I thought I had hit the motherload. I would have been some sight seeing a man abusing a stingray but I was rewarded a few drifts later on a jig.

Two mates of mine hit a big school of snapper.

They bagged out with 60-70cm pinks and sent me pics whilst I was at work! Bastards!! I think it's karma coz I tend to send fishing pics to fellow members whilst their working! Right sea-kem and keg?? Lol
