im working aswell as studying  mate , so i aint no bludger, mum n daddy dont give me everything

If u think you have it bad,

How bout 5, three hour engineering exams (all 4th year units) , and 4 of which are in a 51hour period. now thats real uni pain :(

i still dont get why the moth*%$#% cram my exams in such a short time period when they have 2 weeks of exams...

ah well last exams den im a graduate engineer yewww!!!

i got exams coming up aswell, but its not that i cant get out because of studying, its because i cant be bothered :)

our media teacher today decides to tell us were having a media exam next week on wednesday thats when i realised i should have listened :P

yep university in many ways in my opinion is a joke and to political , im paying thousands of dollars for my units however IMO they teach you Fuk all , we learn everything ourselves they ofer you fa advice and help. its here u go on ur way.

DhuBoi agree with you about da politics part and here they are saying they want to cut down staff by 20% when they need to increase staff by 30%.

as for learning it is about doing it yourself, everyone is responsable for their own learning they just make the material available (and not even dat lol). I used to think uni is just a piece of paper and in many ways it is, BUT i must say looking back i have learnt a lot about all aspects of my field and uni has prepared me somewhat for a career in industry, ofcourse i have a lot more to learn and i will get ten times more from a job in industry.

having said that i think uni is all about saying to the employer that you do have da brains, you can do what is required in your field etc. its just a long hard road in order to get the piece of paper dat proves it, and even then all dat piece of paper  does is get you in the door. if an individual can do the job or not or do it well is a whole other story, I reckon some people could do some jobs without da piece of paper but unfortanetly in my case, no piece of paper=no job opportunities (in the career im striving for)

yeh i hear ya with the politics, i know university is a different ball park , but if they are not teaching me anything and im doing it all myself it s a big joke we are paying through our arses , thousands of dollars for our units. At the same time said you need help or support at uni pfft fuk think again your on your own , even if you sought after help and look for it. Good joke fuk all people at uni realy wana help you.  I am with you on i think its bullshit a piece of paper with some letters on it stating you have a honours , bachelors or masters is going to get you a great job or say you knoe. IMO alot of people know alot more about whatever it is they are involved then a person with a degree  .

in some jobs as an example engineer, they wont even look at your application unless you have a degree or almost have a degree. a person with a degree could be a total doosh bag for all the company knows but without a degree in these type of jobs even if your a gun, cant really get in the door.

baisicly if you have a degree and your a doosh you wont last, and if you dont have a degree u wont even get the opportunity. so the person with a degree who is actually good, gets the job  and in a sense it kinda sucks we have to go through 4 years or wtever of uni when really you could learn that much more from 4 years on the job, but i guess dats how the cookie crumbles.
