assist hooks as stingers on soft plastics

Just saw this on face book. It is a photo from compleat angler nedlands, so I do not claim any credit what so ever for the idea. It looks like a good way of rigging a stinger onto a soft plastic. I will definitely try it because I don't know how many tails I lose. This should convert them into hook ups.
has any one else tried this?

not a new idea.
