Aussie (Chinese) Flags

Seems if you don't have at least one of these on yer car/boat u are;
A) Un-Australian;
B) Not a bogan (or cashed up Bogan for that matter);
C) Aware they are made in China and in no-way-shape-or form support Aussie producers (and no Red Dot does not count).

Gotta love the Chinese and their global recession ingeniuty. Make flag of other nation, sell lots and lots, laugh off recession, put kids thru college.

JMO but that is the most stupid crap I've read for a long time.
Like it or not (& I'm neither endorsing nor disparaging the current flag) it is the Australian flag - NOT the 'English' flag.
Further, it just goes to show how little you actually know about history, as it is NOT even the English flag either. An English flag is red verticle cross on a white background. Check it out here.

the Union Jack is in fact a British flag which is acombination of the English flag (red verticle cross on a white background), the Northern Irish flag (a red diagonal cross on a white background) and the Scotish flag (a white diagonal cross on a blue background). It later became recognised as the flag the represented the British empire of which, at present at least, we are a part.

I laugh at all the flags you see on cars , past one the other day with 6 flags on it. these werent the normal window sized ones either, there were about 3ft X 2ft.

Thought they were a pretty good addition to Aussie day. Flew into Perth on Saturday and it was great to see a bit of patriotism. Apparently theres not much of it in the Eastern states and we've still got nothing on the yanks. Have to agree on the quality of the components though, saw a few littered driving up the freeway on the way back to Exxy today. :(

Each to their own I suppose - I don't mind seeing the flags out, as Ads says it adds to the patriotism - they do that a LOT in Ireland when opposing Hurling (iománaíocht) Teams play.
I also agree that it's sad to see them made overseas with cheap componentry.
What sadenes me slightly is all those that simply leave them on there car once fitted - they haven't got the 1.5 seconds it takes to 'de-instal' them LOL. Like those that leave their SIDS noses permanently on - tends to deflate the speciality of whole idea.
