Abbreviations
Wondering how some or most of us get on trying to work out some of the abbreviations that come through.
examples---FFB ? five fathom bank=had me scratching head for while
Pengos = even worse, took looong time to work out
Bunno =lived there for 20yrs and never heard it called that
Lano =have fished from there, same as Bunbury
Dunno=lived there for 2 yrs, heard it called Dunsy never Dunno
YTK + KGs =lots of scratching head.
Rocko=thought it was an Italian mate for a while
I don't know if its me or whatever but its not a lot of extra effort typing the whole word to get your message across than trying to save on a few keystrokes on the keyboard.
Admittedly there are some places that the abbreviations have been out for donkeys years,Busso,Freo and Gero, they are all I can think of at the moment[ATM][looked for autoteller]The use of the spellchecker wouldn't go astray at times.
There, got it off my chest!!Son [deepwater] may be right when he calls me a grumpy old fart.

bump
Think this is worthy of bumping back up the top for anyone that hasn't seen it. I've spoken to a fair few people that ask, whats FFB and a few of the others listed. Just something to consider when wanting an answer to a question, just that not every one is local to the area, but may be able to offer help as they've fished it but aren't sure what you are referring to.
Cheers,
Adam
