Not aussie whaler

Nigel doesnt make aussie whaler he actuallty produces the Ocean Whaler! Aussie whaler is a eastern states boat, which come in cabin and centre console style. If you are asking about the Ocean Whaler I have one.

Aussie Whaler

Thu, 2008-01-10 08:34

A mate of mine has an Aussie Whaler 550 Profish. It's more of a walkaround than the cabin version. Excellent hardtop and really nice to fish from.

It's a harsher ride than a standard V-hul but it's much more stable at rest due to it being about 2.4m wide.

Probably not suited for big swells as it's got quite a square nose on it which would plow a bit in a big following sea but hey, I don't go out in that sort of weather anyway. The centre hull has a very sharp entry that chops through smaller chop really nicely though.

Best thing about it is the massive desk space on it for a 5.5m boat (self draining too). Has a nice transom door and boarding platform as well.

With a 115hp motor on the back it goes pretty well too.
