Australia's best fishing adventure?

5 blokes for a 7-10 day ultimate fishing adventure in Aus, where would you go? cost is not an issue and ideas about overseas destinations are worth taking into account.
cheers

Edit: I would prefer somewhere that has potential photo/cinematic opportunities, above and below the surface, the Shoals are great for underwater images no doubt, but I need to keep the whole party happy

I really don't think anything in Australia can compare to a Nomad trip. Plenty of different reefs to choose from depending on your taste/fishing style, excellent quides, great accomodation and food, awesome boats. The whole nomad experience is sensational.

Go to the Monties mate. Have been there 3 times with a bunch of mates for 10 day trips. Awesome fishing and diving.

then I would consider kuala rompin in malaysia for sailfish.

In its short history, its become somewhat of a mecca, particularly amongst the SW fly fishing community. Sight casting to sailfish with poppers etc, its another place on my "to do"list.....

getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

Yep Coral sea or the Nicobar

Sat, 2009-10-24 17:29

Yep Coral sea or the Nicobar islands between India and Myramar from what I have been told it is a mecca for fishing and to fish there money would have not to be a option as its meant to be really expensive.

Another spot is shady camp in the NT

Grand banks florida

Lord Howe Island. It caters for everything by the looks. Snorkelling, fish feeding, surfing and is a red hot land based and boat fishing destination. On tap kingies, tuna, billies and a big list of reefies. Will get there one day.

Overseas, I would love to spend a few months visiting the thousands of islands and reefs off the south east corner of Papua New Guinea. That is real untouched fishing territory.
