Seen a lot of bait fish around in swan and want to catch them for tailor. Firstly is is possible to catch these fish and what methods are useful for them and second where is a good spot to catch tailor using live bait (live around canning bridge).

The only net you can use
The only legal net you can use in the Swan and the Canning is a dab net.
As for tailor the Applecross jetty at night is a good bet.

depends on what they are.
depends on what they are. years back i used to get hardy heads , yellow eye mullet and bony herring. used to get the mullet and hardy heads on small hooks but also jag all of them but i think jagging them now is not allowed. only 3 hooks allowed on a line as well.
as far as taylor go used to get them at canning bridge just on the edge of the lights .along with most jetties that have lights that attract baitfish.

use bread for mullet. Find
use bread for mullet. Find the flats and if you can see the mullet feeding burley the water up with the crusts. Wait till they start feeding and cast a blob of bread on a small hook into the zone and reel in slowly. Usually i only get the yellow eye mullet doing this (pilch?) but works the goods.
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.
