Mandurah Fishing Autumn

Going to mandurah in weeks time want to get some prawns, cobbler, octopus and crabs. Entirely L/B so any tips would be great (location, tides). Is it worth targetting anything else e.g. tailor, whiting, herring, salmon, flounder.

Cheers

Prawns need some rain. Cobbler, take a gidgee, crabs, almost done I’m hearing, octopus, good luck.

Might get some salmon trout (baby salmon) near the old traffic bridge. Tends to be a few at that time of year

tailor try ocean end of the cut south side with incoming tide at sun up.

Crabs, not many size ones around now, best bet try Coodannup early morning on the flats good luck, watch the size carefully.

Octopus, along any of the breakwater rock walls use fish (whole mullet) on strong cord with big jag.

Whiting (yellow fin) on any sand flat beast if it has odd patches of weed early morning (sun up) with poppers and stick bait lures.

Flounder, forget it.

Herring, north side of cut down near the entrance to the marina.

Prawns, Just after dark along the foreshore at Erskine just small river prawns and not many.

Now, you can throw all of the above in the bin if the cyclone Vivienne comes down the coast with heavy weather.

 erskine is also good for

erskine is also good for cobbler around where the little marina is along with occies. my son use to get a few around there. occies where ever there is a rock wall or groyne. tailor around the red marker in the harvey but have heard through the S bend as well. praens on a out going tide through either the cut or through mandurah. could alos try kicking in the shallows. crabs you should be able to get a few mainly females at this time of the year and they are normally pretty big.
