Basic questions about Hilarys

So it's the mother-in-law's birthday on Sunday, so that means lunch out with the family. We are going to Hippo Creek at Hilarys.
To get my boating fix, I'm thinking of launching there and drive the boat to the restaurant side. Then after lunch, meybe a squidding session just outside the marina or even herring with the kids. So a few questions for those who knows the area well:
- Is there facility to tie up the boat next to ther restaurants?
- Is there any squid (weed bed) area just outside the marina? I don't want to go out far due to the weather forecast
- Any tips on where to get some bread and butter herring or whiting?

In front of hippo creek is temp only i think, but i would ring them or Hillarys Marina.squid area over at little island along with herring.
