battery for fish finder and nav lights

hi boys

I am trying to work out the best way to hook up nav lights and a fish finder to my dingy.

I have a 40 hp suzuki but was wondering if there is any other way of putting a battery in without hunting down a charger for the motor.

But ultimatly i want it to be done properly so if i need to get the charger for the boat does anyone know where to get it from?

Thanks heaps

hemi

Hi Hemi

I ran one of those portable car battery packs in my dinghy for over 3 years. Recharged every time after a big day. Used to run LED Nav Lights, sounder and portable GPS all day with no problems.. Leave it all at home if you go crabbing or something when you dont need it.. nev

firstly, does your motor have the capabilities to charge a battery ? if so you could then get it set up to run any accessories to a battery. i know a lot of outboards can do that function as im sure it has been mentioned on here at some stage. if you not sure contact Men On Boats or Commodore Marine (both sponsors) and find out. im thinking a 40hp suzi should be able to
