BC while using Hookah

Guys
Does anyone on this site use a BCD when diving on a Hookah, have been diving for years without using one but was thinking of trying a BC with intergrated weights this year. I have been having a few issues with my lower back and thought this might help with not having a heavy weight belt around my waist putting strain on my back.
Your thoughts

Sure have
Always used a BC. Didnt have mine connected to the Hookah years back but filled it manually just to stabilise/neutralise bouyancy. Certainly made it easier catching crays.
Now have to add havent scuba-ed for years due to a windsurfing encounter with "Bruce", our friendly GW. Sort off lost my balls so to speak!!

I’ve used a very old BCD on
I’ve used a very old BCD on hookah for years. The bladder was blown so it couldn’t be used for buoyancy though. Loved using it more for the pockets, connecting bailout bottle, and connecting the hookah line quick release to at chest height for easier access, when those naughty boats come too close and hook up the hose
I also trimmed my belt right down to a minimum - have to lightly kick down the first few metres. The positive buoyancy was negated at the end of a dive by a full bag of crays. I personally don’t like integrated, as I find lots of weights that have escaped!
My back is also not great. Another solution is to piggy back 3 lbers onto 9ers and position on your hips(even both sides)...this works a treat for me. My 3lbers are actually about 1's as I remoulded them when trimming down.
Cheers Pete

if its just for carrying weight?
never used one but, would a lead vest work better with a bad back rather than a belt? much cheaper new than a bcd
